Andaiye N. Foluke
Dr. Andaiye N. Foluke has spent her life using her personal and career experiences to advocate for the less fortunate and disenfranchised individuals and to provide them with the support they need.
As an educator and administrator for nearly 30 years, Dr. Foluke left her mark on the low-income urban school district that she was employed in. As a “master teacher” Dr. Foluke mentored and paved the way for many new teachers, including her daughter. As an active advocate for equity in educational funding, she founded the SpiderWeb Coalition, a community-based organization that successfully rallied and succeeded in getting extra funding for struggling schools.
Simultaneously, Dr. Foluke co-founded ProChild, another education advocacy group. Prior to her retirement in 2015, Dr. Foluke served as vice-president of the local teachers’ union, with a primary focus on salary negotiations and employee grievances.
After retiring, she was sworn in as a Court Appointed Special Advocate for children in foster care. This appointment afforded her the opportunity to monitor and implement needed resources to help children and their family, while in foster care.
*While Dr. Foluke’s earlier focus was on children, she has now transition to provide services to meet the needs of the unreached, unfed, uneducated, unreconciled, and unsupported adults in our midst. She is the founder of Shining Light Outreach Ministry, Inc. Its mission is to emulate the love of Jesus Christ through service and guidance to those in need.
In her ministry, Dr. Foluke has initiated fundraisers to help the local community food bank; filled several containers of household items and clothing for the citizen of Haiti; facilitated several book studies; and maintains an active care and nursing home ministry.
*She has served as an usher, a missionary, a choir member, a Vacation Bible School teacher, a youth leader, and a facilitator of both Sunday School and Bible studies in several churches.
At present. Dr. Foluke hosts a weekly online bible study called Strength @ Noon.
Dr. Foluke is a member of the Word of Life Christian Fellowship International, where she was ordained as a Minister of the Gospel, in 2025.
Rev. Foluke is also an active member of the United Clergy of the Oranges, Inc.
*Dr. Foluke holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology, with a master’s degree in educational leadership and Organization and a doctorate degree in Theology and Ministry. She is an avid reader and loves spending time with her granddaughter, Kemet.
